Pesci Che Volano - A Labour of Love
When I first discovered it
A love story that began close to home
Pesci Che Volano has a very special place in my heart, and not just because it’s beautiful jewellery.
I first came across it almost by chance in 2016 while visiting Ischia, a little island off the coast of Naples where I was born. Inside the beautiful Castello Aragonese, there was a small display of artisan jewellery: rustic, poetic pieces laid gently on sand.
I remember stopping immediately. The shapes were organic and imperfect, like little treasures washed up by the sea. Each one felt alive. That day, I bought two rings for myself and a pendant for my husband, the Massimo pendant, which he still wears today.
That was the beginning of my connection with Pesci Che Volano, a story that’s continued ever since.

Meeting Elena in Florence
Where craftsmanship meets soul
Not long after, I had the chance to visit Elena’s atelier in Florence and meet the maker behind the brand. Walking into her studio felt like stepping into another world, full of music, sketches, tools, and pieces waiting to be finished by hand. It wasn’t just a workspace; it was a creative sanctuary.
Elena spoke about wanting to create jewellery that celebrates slowness and beauty beyond trends. Even the name Pesci Che Volano (Flying Fish) carries poetry, a nod to things that exist between worlds. That idea, of something suspended between the sea and the sky, the real and the imagined, has stayed with me ever since.

True handmade artistry
No shortcuts, no mass production
Every piece of Pesci Che Volano jewellery is handmade in Florence using the ancient lost-wax casting method. Each design begins as a wax sculpture, then is cast in bronze or silver, cleaned, and shaped by hand.
You’ll notice small marks or tiny variations; those are the artist’s fingerprints. That’s the beauty of it. No two pieces are ever exactly the same. It’s not perfection they chase, it’s soul.

The ocean, the myths, the magic
Elena’s inspiration often comes from nature, especially the ocean. You’ll find mermaids, seahorses, starfish, and sculptural hearts, all with her unmistakable touch. The pieces feel like they drift between myth and movement, grounded in craftsmanship yet alive with imagination.
Pesci doesn’t follow fashion, it follows feeling. And that’s what makes it timeless.

Bringing it to Australia
Almost a decade of friendship and collaboration
After that first visit to Florence, I knew I wanted to share Pesci Che Volano with Australia. We’ve now represented the brand for almost ten years, and it’s one that means so much to me personally.
Over the years, I’ve seen how deeply customers connect with these pieces. They’re bought as gifts, keepsakes, talismans, sometimes all three. Retailers often tell me their customers come back wearing their Pesci pieces months later, full of stories about them.

Why Pesci belongs in your boutique
- Authentic craftsmanship – handmade in Florence using traditional techniques
- Truly one of a kind – no two pieces are ever identical
- Rich storytelling – pieces inspired by myth, the sea, and emotion
- Sustainable and ethical – slow-made, small production, and honest pricing
- Strong emotional connection – customers fall in love with the story as much as the jewellery

If you haven’t yet discovered it for your store, it’s one of those rare collections that enriches your space, not just with product but with feeling.
