Sanctamuerte
Meet Sanctamuerte, a label of poetic rebellion and timeless craft - Now at Importante
We’re thrilled to welcome Sanctamuerte to the Importante’s portfolio, a bold and beautiful new addition we can’t wait for you to discover. Born in Florence and rooted in Italian craftsmanship, Sanctamuerte is an evocative label that challenges conventions, celebrates individuality, and offers pieces that feel like wearable art. Its sculptural shapes, layered textures and soft-hued palettes have just landed on our floor and are ready to be explored at Life InStyle Melbourne from 31 July to 3 August, or at our Sydney showroom.
A vision born in Florence
Sanctamuerte was founded in 2020 by Italian designer Filippo Giorgi. A Florence local, Filippo drew from the city’s centuries-old textile traditions to give shape to a new kind of fashion label, one that goes beyond trends, boundaries and definitions. With access to Florence’s vibrant creative community and craftsmanship, he built a brand that brings together passion, culture and a reverence for materiality.
Inspired by stories, shaped by contrast
Sanctamuerte’s collections are infused with references from diverse cultures, brought together in a retro avant-garde aesthetic that feels both grounded and unexpected. The result is clothing that’s layered with meaning, merging antique silhouettes, modern rebellion, and a sense of understated strength. Think raw edges, sculptural forms, and fabrics that make a statement as they move.
Made for the free
Sanctamuerte is for those who don’t follow rules, and don’t want to be defined by fashion. It speaks to those who embrace freedom, experimentation, and self-expression - individuals who prefer individuality over conformity and are drawn to the idea of clothing as art, expression and style.
A philosophy of imperfection and intention
At the heart of Sanctamuerte is a poetic approach to design. Garments are crafted to feel lived-in, soulful and timeless. Natural fibres in soft, earthy colours are paired with intentionally frayed hems and unexpected construction. Each piece is a reflection on impermanence and beauty, designed to be worn across seasons and years.
The artist behind the label
Filippo Giorgi brings a background in fashion and a deep connection to Florentine textile traditions. His vision for Sanctamuerte is grounded in intuition, detail and artistic freedom. Through close collaboration with artisans and fabric suppliers, he shapes each collection from start to finish, ensuring that the final pieces hold both his creative signature and the weight of Italian craftsmanship.
Material and tactile depth
Fabric is central to Sanctamuerte’s identity. The brand favours natural fibres like silk, linen and viscose, often blending them in one piece to create dimension and fluidity. Subtle use of unexpected materials, such as denim and suede, adds another layer of tactile richness to the collection. Soft tones - chalk, sand, faded ink - set the mood while edges are left raw. Nothing feels overdone. Everything feels considered. The result is a sensory experience as much as a visual one.
A Tuscan atelier with total control
In 2025, Sanctamuerte has brought all parts of its creative process under one roof in Tuscany, from design and prototyping to production and logistics. This not only ensures the integrity of each collection but allows the brand to respond intuitively to its community, offering capsule drops and made-to-order pieces with care and intention.
